I'm sure, most of you know that it's coming up another anniversary of the kidnap and murder of 10 year old Amy Mihaljevic. I have a few questions regarding this horrendous ordeal that Amy went through.Her spirit could very well be watching from the heavens to which she now resides also questioning these things. Because no one knows for sure what transpired that fateful day it has left scars on hundreds of peoples lives. It would appear that everyone is chasing the rainbows end, as it has yet to be found too. The thoughts that many people have of " I wish I'd been watching closer the days leading up to her disappearance " or " If only I'd been there to help her". Do these thoughts ever cross your mind? Are you one of the hundreds that are haunted by her memory even though you never met? Do you have questions too? It just seems to me that it would have to be a person in an authoritative position to be able to control all that happened! This is just one of my opinions.

I do not believe Jason knew that she was talking to an unknown man. As far as I know Amy only told Kristen Balas about the details of her conversation with the man. The police believed that the phone calls were made to Amy during that hour that Amy was home was alone after school. The 5th graders got out 1 hour earlier than the 7th grade at the time.
I think that further proof that whoever took her, knew her and her family. How else would they know she was alone in that house for an hour? How would they have known all the right things to say to lure her to that shopping center?
43.Why didn't anyone see her get into a car, if she was taken in a car?
I think that's because he was smart enough to leave his car somewhere out of sight of the shopping center. He could have parked behind Heinen's or in the back lot of the bowling alley. She might have been afraid to get in his car initially and he probably wanted to be somewhere isolated so if he had to coax Amy into the vehicle he could do it without being watched.

43.I think your real close with that because it seems to fit what Rick Burns said and the judge verified. That also would mean that the car was indeed a gold color!
How about this scenerio, let's say he was the guy that leaned down and said something to Amy her classmates thought was her father. Maybe he said ,"my car is parked at the station, the doors unlocked, I need to get something, why don't you just go ahead and get in , I'll be right there". He then waited a moment to give her enough time to get in without anyone noticing and then got in himself? The only time they were seen in contact was when he leaned down and then when he was asking Rick Burns directions. Hmmmm!
#6 Maybe their computerized system doesn't keep track of records before 1/1/90; it may store the date as number of days going forward from there, and record every day before then as 1/1/90.
Occam's Razor makes it very unlikely that every person in Ashland County sold their property on 1/1/90, even if there was a particularly traumatic event happening around there which made them all want to move.
#9 This goes back to the theory James has mentioned that they may have the guy, but not enough evidence to convict beyond reasonable doubt in a court of law. If they arrest the right guy but he walks, they're in a world of hurt.

1. I'm just thinking that it was possible Jason was home but not paying any attention to what Amy was doing every minute. He could have been playing in a different area of the house while she was on the phone.
2. Jason could have thought it was someone trying to sell something and paid no attention to the call until the next day when he was questioned.
3. Either way I believe the family information was gained in a different way.

Here's my take on this one: Whoever murdered her did not plan to do it when they picked her up. I think they planned to sexually assault her and she fought back and they panicked and killed her.
I'm guessing this was the killer's first crime and afterward he was highly paranoid and fearful of being caught. The reason he moved the body to the field is because the police got close to him. Maybe was even questioned at one time by police or FBI?
I think that the person who murdered Amy was very familiar with both Bay Village and New London but not necessarily living there at the time of her abduction.
Of course, I have no basis in fact for these thoughts. It's just what make sense to me. The last time I saw Amy alive constantly replays itself in my head, in my dreams.
This case needs to be solved.

How many cases have you heard of where the abductor pickup a child, and after they were done with them they took them home or were going to let them go? Your idea sounds good. However to start with they don't want to be recognized by the child because it was a sex crime. These perps were killers, they don't chance things like that, they would be caught. As I see it Amy was picked to kill after they were done. They had to be watching her for awhile. If she fought back at some point we wouldn't have a clue as to when that would have been. Was it the first day or just before they killed her? We don't know the answer to that.
It's just my opinion that the reason they moved the body was because someone might make a connection to them through that house (that we don't know who owned in 1989) if it was that house she was murdered in, authorities keep skirting around the answer to that.
I will agree that it was this persons first time for doing this, he may have done it again some time later.
The way I see it he was somewhat familiar with both the Ashland area and the Bay Village area. More so the Bay Village area.
I agree that not many cases of child abduction end up with the child going home. It's just the manner in which she was taken: Broad daylight, in front a police station, surrounded by witnesses, etc. It just seems like if this was a plot for murder why be so brazen? Why not just grab her as she walked home from school? Why go to all the trouble of making sure it was her? I think she was targeted for a sex crime and it was this person's first ever crime against anyone and it didn't go as planned. I definitely think she was being watched and carefully chosen.

That was just a theory, the reality of what happened to Amy is, they looked for a child who appeared to them nobody cared about,she was unsupervised. Amy was vaulnerable she was like a homeless child, she wasn't the mayors daughter. They probably thought she wouldn't be missed, she didn't really fit in the Bay Village soceity anyways, they were doing the town a service by getting rid of her.Very harsh I know,it didn't really have a thing to do with Amy herself. That child was taken with evil intent to do her harm! To hurt her! They knew what they were going to do with her when they took her, they had evil intent! Her life was going to end without question, that was their plan. It's a damn shame too yet it happens all over the world everyday.People need to take off their blinders and look at what's happening around them. It could save some childs life!

#34. The French girl was a very young girl that went missing and her body was found in a field off Rt. 18/20 just outside of Norwalk. (In a garbage bag I believe).
#35. It was reported that someone went to Margaret's mothers home in Las Vegas and claimed the address books. No one from the FBI,Ashland,or Bay Village has claimed responsibility for taking them. Yes it would appear that Margaret was being watched. I'd say it looks like maybe the person wanted to make sure their name, or someone elses wasn't associated with Margaret.

12. Reports made back then, by neighbors, stated they had seen a man leaving the house with Amy like they were taking her for visitation,they assumed Margaret had a boyfriend. Dale claims it was him that the neighbors saw.

James is offering $1000 for anyone who can get that logbook from LENSC and/or whoever can prove that Dean Runkle volunteered there. I feel that this is a lot of money for evidence that is very circumstantial at best. What do you think? Even if all is true, what does that get in the court of law? You can't prove anything with it, just a commonality. There wouldn't be evidence of Runkle actually gathering info from the log book.

I would think that if there was any such logbook that the FBI has already gotten it, found nothing and moved on.

Other than that I really don't see where he fits the profile of who they are looking for, I don't care what kind of life style he may have.
Unless someone comes up with something more than recalling he used to go to the LENSC to deliver mice, and might have signed his name in a logbook I just don't see him as the person the BVPD and FBI are looking for.
Not only that but who knows if the phone calls are definitly connected to the one that Amy got.Where is it written that those calls came from the same person to each girl called and some of them were just small children.
I'm just not seeing it at this time. I'd be more interested in retired cop, Robert Bonness at this point.Check out what is being said about him.
$10 says Runkle was looked by the FBI as far back as 1989/1990. His resemblance to the sketch and apparent eccentricity would have surely triggered more than a few students or parents to pass his name along as a tip. This case was huge. The posters were everywhere. Any guy that looked slightly like the composite probably got pegged as the killer. There is a story from Renner's site that mentions a female student making the direct accusation to Runkle in a class years ago. I just feel like someone would have suspected him enough to submit his name to law enforcement.
I somewhat remember mention of Runkle submitting DNA. Can anyone confirm this?

I agree, with something as traggic as a child being murdered people will turn in most anybody, and they did.
I seem to recall Renner posting on his site that they only had half a strand of DNA so authorities couldn't rule him in or out. However they managed to do so with others. Not only that but, when I spoke with Det. Spaetzel he told me they had plenty of DNA. So what gives with Mr. Runkle? I don't get it.
Mr. Renner is planning a protest on the Nature Center. I told him a better venue would be the BVPD! I say we all come together and picket the BVPD for the murder of Amy! We could compile a list of serious questions that really need answers, a mandemus of sorts. Amy has been slaughtered twice, one took her life the other took away justice. Think of it as "how would you feel if this were your child?"

Again, respectfully of course, BVPD may well be on to something, and of course they are withholding certain info. It's time for fresh eyes on this case, you and I know it! If after 21 years and no solution to date, do you really think they've had success? So why not demand answers as to why?

I am organizing a protest of the Lake Erie Nature and Science Center THIS Saturday, November 6th at 11:30 a.m.

-- An immediate independent review (conducted by myself, or a third party we can all agree upon) of their archives and records for logbooks signed by Amy Mihaljevic and/or any reference to Dean Runkle.
-- Amy's plaque moved from the office to the main corridor or entryway.
-- Amy's name spelled correctly on all future correspondence and memorials.
I will be providing some signs but you are welcome to construct your own.

Did Amy's Mom have any other addiction other than alcohol? Is it out of the realm of possibility that Amy was killed over owed drug money? It would certainly explain Al Matlocks supposed comment . I believe ONE of the answers to this case is tied to Margaret.
The more I research this case the more I believe that Margaret's life outside of her family is the key to solving who abducted and killed Amy. I believe we are talking about 2 different individuals. Maybe more. Amy knew her abductor. Amy likely did not know her killer. Focus on Margaret, find Amy's killer. If Amy was "picked' for this then the other phone calls and science center is a moot point. If it was random then going that route still has a case. Amy would not have gotten into any vehicle with someone she didnt know. Like I said. Focus on Margaret, It will lead to the killer. Margaret's life outside of the Mihaljevic family must be researched more thoroughly. We also know Margaret had ties to New London through friends. Those friends had friends. Those friends likely visited the bar scene. Theres your correllation. Now who likely is the drinker/party type? Likely, the same gang of people already in question in Ashland county. Find out who Margaret hung out with/drank with. Find Amy's killer. His name or multiple names are IN MARGARET'S ADDRESS BOOK.
